Most of the issues with the motor not running, running with vibrations or not running in one direction or another is caused by mating the connectors poorly.
This results in water getting inside the connectors and effects the communication between battery and motor. The most common symptoms are vibration of the motor, motor not working in one direction or another or motor not working and shutting down the battery.
If you continue to push the motor to run like this, you risk either losing the motor or battery electronics and doing irreversible damage.
Please take everything apart, clean the connectors with rubbing alcohol if necessary (nothing else), dry them with compressed air or simply let them sit for a few hours. Then reconnect everything carefully and run the motor in the 1st and 2nd speeds forward to see if everything is working normally.
It is safe to run your motor in air at speeds 1 and 2 forward, but not higher. Running the motor at higher speeds in air can cause damage to the motor’s electronics.
If everything is working normally, no damage is done and you should be able to run your motor as normal in water.
If your battery has shut down due to water intake or a shorting of the connectors, you will be able to reset your battery by plugging in your charger to the battery for a few seconds.
Also, check your connectors on your adapter to make sure there is not damage to them or they are not missing their orange o-ring.
